Tolcapone is a medication primarily used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. It belongs to a class of medications called COMT (catechol-O-methyltransferase) inhibitors. COMT inhibitors help increase the levels of dopamine in the brain by preventing its breakdown.

Tolcapone tablets are often prescribed alongside other medications for Parkinson’s disease, such as levodopa/carbidopa, to enhance their effectiveness and alleviate symptoms like tremors, stiffness, and slowness of movement.
