Buprenorphine and Naloxone Sublingual Film
Buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual film is a prescription medication used in the treatment of opioid dependence and addiction. It’s a combination of two drugs: buprenorphine, a partial opioid agonist, and naloxone, an opioid antagonist.
Buprenorphine works by attaching to the same receptors in the brain that opioids bind to, reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms without causing the same level of euphoria or high. Naloxone is included in the formulation to deter misuse; if the medication is injected, naloxone can block the effects of opioids and induce withdrawal symptoms.
