Docetaxel injection, USP, is a chemotherapy medication used in the treatment of various types of cancer, including breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, prostate cancer, and certain types of stomach, head, and neck cancers.

Docetaxel is classified as a taxane medication and works by interfering with the growth and spread of cancer cells by inhibiting microtubule function, a critical component in cell division. By disrupting this process, docetaxel prevents cancer cells from dividing and growing, ultimately leading to their death.
