Nitro-Dur® Transdermal Patches
Nitro-Dur® transdermal patches are a medication delivery system used to administer nitroglycerin, a vasodilator, through the skin. These patches are primarily prescribed for the treatment of angina pectoris (chest pain) associated with coronary artery disease.
Nitroglycerin works by dilating blood vessels, increasing blood flow to the heart, and reducing the workload on the heart muscle. The patches provide a controlled release of nitroglycerin over a specific period, helping to prevent or relieve angina episodes.
