Pramipexole Dihydrochloride Extended-Release Tablets
Pramipexole dihydrochloride extended-release tablets are a medication primarily used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and restless legs syndrome (RLS).
This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as dopamine agonists. It works by mimicking the action of dopamine, a neurotransmitter involved in controlling movement, coordination, and emotions in the brain. In Parkinson’s disease, the brain’s dopamine levels decrease, leading to movement problems. Pramipexole helps to stimulate dopamine receptors, thereby alleviating some of the symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease, such as tremors, stiffness, and slow movement.
In the case of restless legs syndrome, pramipexole helps to reduce the sensations of discomfort and the urge to move the legs experienced during rest.
